Approximately 25,000 residences in southeastern Queensland woke up lacking electricity on Monday morning after intense storm systems passed over the region, bringing wind gusts reaching 109 kilometers per hour.

Substantial Hailstones and Broad Damage

Locals reported large ice chunks reaching sizes of 7cm in particular locations. Weather authorities verified that multiple regions across the state had been impacted by significant hail.

Response teams were attempting to repair energy supply throughout the affected regions, with approximately seventy teams working to manage the widespread outages.

Southern State's Climate Difficulties

Simultaneously, nearly one thousand residents in the southern state also faced power outages after the capital city recorded its most precipitation in over 500 days.

Emergency response teams received 598 emergency reports across the state, mainly for building damage but also for fallen timber and water accumulation.

At the height on the previous day, over 28,000 energy customers in the state were experiencing outages.
